Ginger and Nuts experienced a fun family day out at Twinlakes Theme Park in Melton Mowbray to celebrate their 15th anniversary since opening to the public.
Twinlakes Theme Park is full of fabulous rides set over various zones including Labyrinth Venture, Excalibur Adventure, Buccaneers Island, Action USA, and Canada Quays.
You’ll find indoor play, soft play and slides as well as fun family rides.
Gallop on the Joust-About Ride and on Jester’s Revenge before dropping 70ft on the Trauma Tower. There’s something for everyone.
The Rum Runner was one of the new rides for 2018 costing £4M. It’s a family spinning roller coaster and you’ll find this in Buccaneers Island. It was one of our favourite rides.
Check their website for all the rides here.
There is Red Rooster Zoo Farm with more animals than most farms.
You’ll find Twinlakes’ famous Meerkats who found true love on the web. That’s not all, there are many aviaries of beautiful birds, goats, pigs, cows and even monkeys who swing on branches in their cosy enclosure.
Here’s what we had to say…
If you prefer Bearded Dragons, snakes and tarantulas then the Creepy Critters Zone at Twinlakes Park is for you. You’ll even find a baby crocodile in his pond.
Making a splash at Twinlakes!
If you love getting wet, makes sure you try the Au Guang Dragon Zone water park. It provides lots of splash play with slides, log flumes, pedal boats and rowing boats. It’s all included in the price. Unfortunately, the log flume was out of action during our visit
Plenty to eat
Visitors to Twinlakes can bring their own food, however, every zone has a fast food outlet. These include Labyrinth, Buccaneers, Splash and Peacock Cafes.
We tried the burgers and hot dogs at Buffalo Bills BBQ Shack. Unlike some parks, the cost was surprisingly reasonable. However, they didn’t accept card so that’s worth knowing.
There are also plenty of places to find ice creams, sweets, doughnuts and slush puppies.
