Ginger and Nuts at Trentham Monkey Forest

This week, we visited Trentham Monkey Forest, the only place in the UK where you can walk amongst 140 free-roaming monkeys.

It’s a unique opportunity to watch the monkey antics unfold in front of your eyes with no cages or bars in sight. Although it was a little muddy, it gets out five-star rating.

Trentham Monkey Forest

Monkey at Trentham Monkey ForestTrentham Monkey Forest aims to provide visitors with a unique, interesting and educational experience, whilst raising awareness and informing you of their involvement in the conservation of endangered wild Barbary macaques, and the research they do to help protect them.

We spent a couple of hours roaming the woodland walk which is less than a mile long, and it’s a fabulous place to capture some wonderful photos and just get up close to endangered Barbary macaques. The feeding talks take place every hour and they’re a must watch.

There is also an information centre, picnic and play areas, a Jungle Shop and a Banana Café. It’s a fantastic family day out and certainly, gets our five-star rating!

It’s well worth checking out the Banana Blog on their website for the latest news!
