Comedy Legend Sir Ken Dodd died earlier this week at his home in Knotty Ash, aged 90.
Famous for his long stand-up shows, Diddy Men and tickling sticks, Sir Ken Dodd was knighted in the 2017 New Year Honours for his services to entertainment and charity.
Darren (‘Nuts’) had the pleasure of meeting his comedy hero, as well as interviewing him many times over the years for various radio stations.
The last radio interview was less than a year ago, in April 2017.
Sir Ken Dodd Praises our very young Diddyman
In December 2017, he praised our son, Charlie for being the youngest Santa.
He said: “It is always heart-warming at this time of year to hear of those who do unselfish things to help others, but this young ‘Diddyman’ has proved to be exceptionally kind in his wonderful efforts to help so many others,
“I am delighted to shine a very large and bright spotlight upon him. Well done to a young man with a big heart”.
Sir Ken recently vowed that he would never retire from the stage and a career which had spanned more than seven decades. He will be sadly missed.
Ginger and Nuts will be talking about Sir Ken Dodd on this week’s show, so make sure you tune in and listen.
