Captain Beany – Beantastic Superhero

Captain Beany is so obsessed with baked beans he has turned his council flat into a ‘Baked Bean Museum of Excellence’ and has raised thousands for charity as a Superhero.

Beany started his love for Baked Beans 30 years ago after setting a world record for sitting in a bath filled with baked beans for 100 hours. Since then, he hasn’t looked back.

He has been voted “Great British Eccentric of the Year” and has even changed his name by ‘Bean Poll’ to ‘Captain Beany’. With a painted orange head and face, he dons a golden cape, pants, gloves and boots and raises thousands of pounds for charity by doing wacky events as a superhero from Planet Beanus.

Captain Beany has raised in excess of £100,000 for various local, national and international charities.

In 2015, Beany raised £3,600 for charity by having 60 baked beans tattooed on his head. Those sponsoring him had their initials inked inside one of the baked beans.

Baked Bean Museum of Excellence

As seen on ‘Britain’s Weirdest Council Houses’ on Channel 4, he has also spent more than £10,000 turning his council flat into a ‘Baked Bean Museum of Excellence‘ which is the third most popular tourist attraction in Port Talbot on Tripadvisor.

He has had visitors from Hong Kong, America and Ireland and reviews describe Captain Beany as “a true superhero!”, “an amazing host” and “born entertainer”.

TripAdvisor has given the museum a five-star certificate of excellence.
